
Lee J. Dobkin joined the Office of General Counsel in April 1997, and in September of 2001 was named Chief Counsel for Penn Medicine and Deputy General Counsel for the University. In that capacity, he oversees all of the legal work which OGC does on behalf of the University of Pennsylvania Health System. Mr. Dobkin previously served as the Chief of the Public Corruption and Labor Racketeering Section in the United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania from 1994 to 1997 and as an Assistant United States Attorney in that office from 1986 to 1994. He began his legal career as a Litigation Associate in the New York law firm of Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison.
Mr. Dobkin attended Amherst College (B.A., cum laude, 1978) and received his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania Law School (J.D., cum laude, 1982). Mr. Dobkin has taught law at the University of Pennsylvania Law School (Adjunct Professor of Appellate Advocacy, 1996), the Temple University School of Law (Adjunct Professor of Integrated Trial Procedure, 1996; Adjunct Professor of Criminal Procedure, Clinical Program, 1994-1995); and the Widener University School of Law (Adjunct Professor of Criminal Law, 1996).
Mr. Dobkin is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) and the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA). He is admitted to practice law in New York, Pennsylvania, and the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
