Donya Short joined the Penn family in 2018 and is currently an Associate General Counsel and the Senior Director of the Office of Clinical Research's Legal Services Office. She supervises a team of attorneys, non-attorney negotiators, and administrative professionals, supporting the Perelman School of Medicine's clinical research activities and scientific innovations.
Donya has over 20 years of legal experience, and prior to the University of Pennsylvania, Donya worked in private practice in New York, Washington DC, and Pennsylvania.
Donya earned her law degree from Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, and she earned her B.A. at Morgan State University. She is admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania, New York, and the District of Columbia. Donya is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys.
