Ira A. Kauderwood joined the Office of the General Counsel in January, 2002 as an Associate General Counsel practicing real estate law. Mr. Kauderwood focuses his practice on representing the University's Department of Facilities and Real Estate Services and other University departments in a wide variety of real estate transactions. Prior to coming to Penn, Mr. Kauderwood practiced real estate law at Ballard Spahr Andrews & Ingersoll, LLP, from 1999 to 2002, and at Pepper Hamilton, LLP from 1996 to 1999, both in Philadelphia.
Mr. Kauderwood is a graduate of Temple University (B.A., American Studies, 1990) and Temple University School of Law (J.D., 1995). Prior to entering law school, Mr. Kauderwood was a consultant and staff member at the Philadelphia Historical Commission. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Eastern State Penitentiary Historical Site. Mr. Kauderwood has lectured on various aspects of real estate law for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the National Business Institute and Preservation Pennsylvania. Mr. Kauderwood is a member of the National Association of College and University Counsel and the Philadelphia Bar Association.
