Joanne Rosenthal, Associate Vice Provost for Research and Associate Counsel, received her B.A. from Washington University, her B.S.N. from La Salle University, and her J.D. from Temple University School of Law. Ms. Rosenthal joined the Office of the Vice Provost for Research in July 2007 after a twenty year tenure at Thomas Jefferson University, where she last served in a dual capacity as Senior Counsel and Corporate Compliance Officer.  Prior to joining Jefferson’s Office of University Counsel, she served as the nurse coordinator in Jefferson’s Department of Family and Community Medicine. 

In her current position, working closely with research leadership and administration, Ms. Rosenthal will be responsible for the continued development, implementation and oversight of the University’s research compliance initiatives, including human subjects and animal research, conflict of interest, research administration, research integrity and misconduct, intellectual property and other regulatory areas.
